Nobody makes precious objet’s better than Cartier…the carved stone bowls on show at the Biennale with jewelled clips on the side, which you wear and then place back as bowl decoration, are quite beautiful as is their new prism Onyx and diamond Deco style clock. The stand sparkles with black onyx, Patiala rubies, iconic glittering Panther’s, as well as carved hard stone heads with glinting gem set eyes, Deco style sautoirs. Stand by for a new tiara trend as Cartier have sold all three on display at the show already. Whilst the new pieces are right up my street, all architectural references, graphic sharply cut black onyx and white diamonds, a flash of a coloured stone with a fresh modern Deco spirit , the piece I would have loved to have taken home was the sea-urchin style 1970’s vintage earrings pictured here each spike brilliantly set with a tiny diamond at the end…Oh and one of the stone bowls to throw them in at the end of the evening.  www.cartier.com
